ita_killabees
i really agree with jay316 this mod is good not only for the excellent level of realism, but also for all the mods available; thanx to RSE for this game we all hope that GR3 will be an evolution of GR1, and not just a "console game" for PC... . We want a strategic and realistic game, not a run & gun... i want to believe RSE Staff (why not?) and i really hope that they have listened to our opinions. they created the a game that after so many years is still on my PC, as on that of many other guys. i'd like them to understand that also if in these forums a lot of users (includin me) wrote things that can in some way hurt them, we appreciate their sacrifice and we're always happy to pay for a well done work. err....im italian so my english would suck... ....i hope u understand... RS, GJ, we're all lookin forward for the next chapter of GR. PS AND WHY DONT U PUT AN ITALIAN SPECIALIST?

the.ronin
I know Rocky wouldn't do this, but someone sold a decent enough HL2 fan web site + forum for around £100 a little while back, so can you imagine what GR.net would go for? ← Nah. I did get offered for the site once, but it's not about cash, as I explain in my upcoming interview heh. Thanks for the comments Serellan. ← very interesting ... i wonder what the common methodology is for valuing website forums ... it would seem ad clickthrough would be gross underestimation. just the indexed history of the domain name alone has a good amount of value. mrnygiants
Wow thats awesome, it's good to see developers take note of what people say around these forums ← Just a quick question to this, but where were the developers when we wanted answers about GR2? Where was the developers/RSE/UBI when we wanted updates to all the cheaters for GR1. I am very excited about this release coming out, not sure if I am buying it, or waiting on feed back from it, but what promise/vision do we have of cheaters and how often will patches becoming out to stop these cheaters? Sorry I am not doing cartwheels, but after GR came out, they came out with DS and then IT, and 1 patch, and that was it. Didn’t hear anything for almost 2+ years. Sorry if I don’t get excited because they signed a photo and sent it to all the GR sites. I would rather them post in here or in all the GR websites an apology for not giving us any information for 2+ years, and that they will post on here more often, telling us they have received our complaints and what they are doing to fix them. Even if they say we have all your money, we are working on GR4 and we will fix all the problems then. Silences really burned a lot of bridges on here, just come out and tell us the truth. Treat us like we are PAYING CUSTOMERS, it will go a long way. Edited September 13, 2005 by mrnygiants

It was Ubi that wanted to get one game out of the door and put the other on hold. The devs had to rework a bunch of stuff to make the PC version something that the fans would want. They were then told by Ubi to shelve it and not release it. Again, I blame Ubi not RSE. Would it have been something we PC fans wanted, hard to say, we shall never know unless Ubi gets charitable again like they did with Iron Wrath. While some may disagree with me, I feel that Ubi's marketing department keeps a tight leash on what the devs can say to fans about what is included in a game or even the progress of it. Ask Ubi those questions and not RSE (though I have other questions to ask other parts of RSE myself, but that is for something else). pz3
yep nice to see the comments directed towards the fans. Sucks ubi puts such a large gag order on a game. But then i can understand why. Like Bo said in his interview, the competition in the game market would be copying everything they do. If my guess at multiplayer is what they are doing for MP it would be somthing a lot of tactical games would copy.
NYR_32
Treat us like we are PAYING CUSTOMERS, it will go a long way. RSE doesn't have to tell us a thing about future products, no company does. They treat us as "paying customers" by taking our feedback and adding/removing features and fixing problems we "the customers" post/talk about. GR2 is a good example. Now about dev's not posting much, and giving us progress reports etc., have you seen whats going on at the UBI forum since Lockdown was released? The two developers from UBI Montreal that have been explaing things, and giving updates on fixes, well it hasn't been pretty. Here's a quick example. Heck, one or two times a dev has posted here (ie. getting involved in a discussion) they've been jumped on. If you were in their shoes would you post (even minus the rules they have to follow to keep their jobs)? And one final thought, the dev's who are here everyday, both registered and lurkers, do it on their free time. Why? They actually care about what the fans think and want. Hence the reason for the thank you letter.
pz3
werd. Thats one good thing about beeing a part of a graphics team, Its usually easier then doing all the coding wich in most cases gets blasted by atleast a group of people. Less stress i would think. mrnygiants
Here's a quick example. ← Some folks need to learn to show a bit of respect. ← I agree with you there about the respect. If they post anything in here, they get my respect. I dont really care about what features Single Player (SP) or Mulitplayer (MP) really has, so I dont care if they dont release that info until the game comes out. What I really care about is what they are going to do about the cheating/glitching. If you guys remember way back then, they were very good about coming out with patches at first to fix the game play, and then 2 add on packs. After that, we totally got ignored, and I mean we got ignored to the point no one knew anything about GR2. Some people said it was coming out, hell EB was taking pre-orders for it up until it was cancelled. All I wanted to hear was the developers say, hey we know there are cheats out there, we are going to fix it in the next version, or anything. All those posts on gr.com and ubi were deleted and ignored.

Colin
This post is starting too drift away from what is important and that is the first post. Professional people in the games industry do not have to come in here, but they do and on a regular basis, Please do not bite the hand that feeds you. You will be the one to lose out in the end. Cobblers
I know I've blown my top off at people in the past, but that behaviour was well out of order. TBH, I'm surprised they kept the thread open for that long. Can't imagine what would happen to the person who acted like that to a dev on these boards.
