Marcinko
I was thinkin more a long the lines of a cave map, with mts, small areas of wep caches. things like that Z, need to know, if u recall or could tell, what the basic loadout and cammies of the foreign forces u saw, and what kalashnikov(spelling ) variants the NA and al-qaeda, taliban was usin. ZRated
Viper-OICW we had used screw on type sights...there were 4 different types out at that time. ehhhhh weapons and cammies of the foreign military......as for weapons..I pretty much saw what we used M4s etc...we had some german guys there for about 2 days and some british guys there too...the german guys really didn't have cammies on that I saw...it looked more like a pair of dockers and a tan sweatshirt....we knew they were military..but we never saw them with weapons or wearing gear..only carrying it. As for British...man it's kind of hard to explain their cammies...it was a lot like ours but they had more of the brown in it.As for weapons...I think they call them C8s or something..but to us they were M4s and M16s..they looked the same in a sense..same goes for the SAW..except theirs had this big flash suppressor on...and I swear the barrels were shorter....I will try and look through my pictures and see if I caught a few Brits or German guys in the background somewhere......I took like 75 pictures out there.... As for what our enemies had...we found LOTS of 7.62 ammo and LOTS of the curved mags they use in AK-47s...we also found mortar rounds, used RPG tubes. Those guys probably saved the empty RPG tubes to use as temorary mortar tubes....the Army can save an empty AT-4 tube in an emergency to fire 60mm mortar rounds out if needed.....we found a buttload of broken bolts from AK-47s also..which they probably broke on purpose for whatever reason...the weapons I found were AK-47s or variants of them....some had wooden stocks, some had NO stocks, some had stocks from other weapons secured to the AK with coat hangars etc.,some had cut stocks...anything you could think of.I also saw in the back of the truck we used to haul that stuff out to destroy..what looked like a .30 cal that had a freakin' wooden bucket flipped upside down with a hole in it as the "tripod".....they also dug hasty fighting positions and trenches about 6 feet deep or so....all connected....we also found feet, hands, elbows and ###### laying around
Marcinko
The guns are c8-the m4 lookin guns, and c7's the m16 lookin guns, i believe.
ZRated
Oh I also forgot.....we dealt with allied Afghan military (militias if you ask me) more than any other allied force there.....we saw them all the time at the airport and another base camp we had....our squad also worked with their "weapons squads" when we would train...we had this one Afghan guy who could read and write perfect english but couldn't speak it.....they had a pretty big variety of crew served medium machineguns...usually Russian made (go figure) PJs (I think that's what they were..or maybe PKs)...anyways...when we did weapons squad stuff and they were there..they would train with us by "mocking" what we did....and our squad leader in most cases would use sand tables to describe limits of fire, grazing fire etc. to them........these guys also were fascinated with the Bic disposable razor.....it was like as if we were giving a caveman a zippo lighter to make fire.....pretty funny stuff....there was also a dude who wore a dang sombraro (that's what it looked like anyways)......his name was Kafil (spelling?)...we reffered to him as nacho when we were talking among ourselves (not to Kafil himself)...this dude was like 60 years old......as for the weapons these guys used....man they had anything that made boom noises.....we are talking trumpets with triggers sometimes.... The_Slink
Yes he would be, perhaps you can add a second specalist objective were you can capture or kill one of his high ranking aids or something, or maby you only get the specalist if you capture him and killing him is a mission objective. Then you'd fail the mission objective. I've just remembered something I've seen. It's this robot with either a M203 or a 12 gauge shotgun for clearing caves. Viper
Then you'd fail the mission objective Don't know much about IGOR, but can you make it so if you capture him you acomplish both objectives (capture and kill) and if you kill him only the one? I've just remembered something I've seen. It's this robot with either a M203 or a 12 gauge shotgun for clearing caves. I remember hearing something about that, don't know much about it though, it may have been used mostly for recon. CLARK
Streinger
I belive SR-47SD was designed for cave- clearing purpose...sure hope to see that one in a mod (and yes, I know @Earl did a great job in his Standard Upgrade mod, but I would realy like to see SR-47 in it's "natural environment") And another thing...I belive it could be acomplished in Igor since @Jack 57 did a simmilar thing in his Postcards from Peru mod...SR-47 was designed around 7,62x39mm round..not only chambered for the round, but actually utilises AK-47 type mags. It was done because the operatives couldn't carry enough ammo with them for those prolonged fire-fights in the caves. With the SR-47, every enemy taken out was a potencial source of spare ammo... With that in mind, could your cave clearing missions be scripted in a way that after you take out a tango (with SR-47), and aproach the body, your ammo is replenished? Since Jack57 made an entire kit change in mission#2, I belive it could be done... Of course, the mission should be scripted in a way that it all makes sense...tangos placed in a way that the mission wouldn't be impossible, but would still insure a prolonged fire fight... Just a thought...

Piccolo
The thing about the SR47, is that no one is really sure how many, if any, were sent to Afghan to try out. If they were utilized, it was most likely on some deep deep patrols by Army Special Forces. These missions are one's you wouldn't normally see any pictures of though, unlike the green ops of Insurgency and such. Even so, the SR47 project is no more at this point. If you asked me, I would say any SOF were more likely to use regular Ak's then the SR, assuming they did recieve some over there.
Streinger
Are you saying the SR-47 was never anything more then a prototype? Too bad if so...but can anyone confirm that? Maybe SR-47 could still be put in a mod as a specialist- weapon...
San
Campaign idea : - Capture/Eliminate Osmama, in Afgahnistan (mission 1) - Can't find him ? Try Pakistan (mission 2) And so on...

ZRated
Hey man..sorry I have been gone in the field this week... Our NVG's are the PVS-14s and PVS-7d's...I use the PVS-7D which is the dual to 1 NOD..and the rest of the platoon uses the PVS-14 which is a single NOD...none have zoom and the lighting and power sources are the same.....they came out with the PVS-14 because it only uses one eye...so at night when you come out of your NODS,you aren't night blind in both eyes like you are the PVS-7s...I like the PVS-7 because I'm a gunner and I can focus better with them...plus I don't really have to move as much anymore like I did when I was in a line unit.... Off the subject a little....I'm finally getting my E6 (after waiting for nearly 2 years, and going through B-NOC almost a year ago)...our squad leader is going to recruiting...so it looks like they are going to move the senior E6 in the platoon to weapons squad....and make me a squad leader in a line squad....so I'm off the 240 soon..and back into the line.
