  1. So i have been gone for a long time, and now i am out of the loop. so here is the question, ......Can you make maps for GR2 or have they not made that possible yet? thanks hartog
  2. Well you did what could be done with the maps from RSE. most of the "detialed" command maps are taken from a rendering in 3dsm by the map maker, at least that is how i do it. there is a PDF in the extra folder on your IT or DS cd that tells how to make command maps based on 3dsm and all that. but you have found they way to do it with out the max file. just keep on going. Hartog
  3. you can look at them in the material editor. or put the RSB plugin from the IT CD in to your plugin folder in photoshop. then you can open them there.

    3dsm Tip

I had this same problem---it is a compatibility issue with Norton and 3dsm. and what it does is over run the winlogon file. and that is what hangs it up. I went to here and it tells you how to fix it. and selet 3dsm from the pull down, then go to knowledgebase and do a search for "winlogon" and it is the first of the two articles this is what they say to do this took care of my problem. i hope this helps. then again maybe i missed the mark and you have a whole other problem
  5. Hey guys. i don't have time to make a full map. but I would be happy to make clutter or other "parts" of maps. let me know. Hartog
  6. were do you find the time to work on these. they look great
  7. I had the same problem and with the IT and it not taking the 24bit textures. once i resaved it as Sleeper said i had no problems. just my two cents
  8. here is a noob question can you make your sky box out of a cylindar, instead of a box?
  9. after viewing those pics. i will have to go and poke my minds eye out.
  10. thanks for the advice. guess i should go back to work but i will keep modding in the back ground i was talking about the heights. i will let javamans tools do the boxes
  11. One last question like that will ever happen does it matter how high above shermanlevel2.0 is above level1.0. i know that you have to have 2.0 below the level of he bridge walking surface. but is there a recommended distance? or as long as you are below your floor plain and above your other sherman level you are ok? BTW nice bridge
  12. that does make it clear. i will have to try and see what happens if i don't put the level ground on 2.0 and try it. thanks for the help
  13. that does make sense, alot. lets say that the river and the ground are on level 1.0 and the bridge is on 2.0. does it matter if part of the ground that is set for 1.0, like a hill. goes heigher then the bridge that is at 2.0. ???? so in short, does the ground need to be for 1.0 and 2.0 in the map editor because part of it is higher then 2.0???
  14. H-Hour thanks for the advice. But i am familar with shermanlevels. I guess i wanted to know what others thought or which method they used. There is always more then one way to skin a cat . I just wanted to here how others kept from getting scratched up to much
  15. This is just to make sure i have the right idea before i waste a lot of time If i have a bridge that is level with my outside world and a river that runs under it, the river is shallow enough to walk threw. Do i have the bridge and the the level ground on one shermanlevel and the river on another shermanlevel. and do i need to have some kind of transition plane on each side of the river were it meets the level ground Or can i put all of the river bridge and level ground all on one level, and only put the part under the bridge on a different level? and would i have to put transitions on each side of the part under the bridge?? or do i just make it all one level and say screw going under the bridge thanks for the ideas Hartog
