  1. I have been sorting through old posts here and I see that some people have posted that there is no way to use a gamepad on GR. not true. I play GR everyday with a Logitech Wingman Rumblepad. Now I have to admit that it doesn't rumble but other than that it is the same as playing it on the PS2. The wingman is a PS2 style controller. It has programmable buttons. It has these buttons and here is how I have them set up.... (you can set them up ANY WAY YOU WANT) L1= run R1= Fire weapon A switches me to alpha company B dittio but to Bravo C Ditto but to Charlie x button page down to cycle soldiers y button nigh vision z button Action (spacebar) There is a D-pad which I have set up as Right d pad reloads weapon Left D pad changes weapon Up d pad stands up Down d pad crouches there are two 'sticks' like on the ps2 Left stick I programmed with the keypresses to make men move Right stick I mapped to the mouse x and y axis for looking around there is a throttle slider on the controller i programmed the slider to zoom The shift button brings up the map. To program this controller is easy after just a few minutes The gamepad software converts pad movements into keystrokes that GR will react to. It works VERY WELL So if you want to play GR with a gamepad it can be done. I also read that Microsoft had a programmable controller but I have yet to see it in action I will answer any questions. (of course)
  2. Ok, heres the gamepad deal. It gets confusing. You CAN use a game pad but it has to have software that translates button presses into keyboard strokes. The gamepad software does the translation so it has to be run before you run GR. To make a long story short. I use the wingman rumblepad by logitech. (although it don't rumble in GR) I liked it because it has SO many buttons and you program them the way you want. It also will 'find' your gr and you run gr from the wingman screen. It has a usb connection and is about 29.00 at circuit city. it takes about 30 minutes to lay out what buttons you want to do what and map the mouse to the joy sticks but after it is all said and done it sure is nicer than keyboarding. In my opinion. If you have any questions let me know. I will try to help further One other odd thing. With the wingman you may have to load GR then close it and load it again to get the gamepad to work properly but that may be a tech issue specific to my setup. I dunno.
  3. So there is no way to take my special forces sniper and make his stealth say a 6 which he would be up to to make it to this point in a career, instead of a 2? Thats a shame. Oh well. thanks Earnayskrum
  4. I was wondering if there is a way to edit the stats of the soldiers. I am supposed to be in command of a group of special forces but they have the reactions of raw recruits some times. I would like to just tweak some of the skills. Thanks for any info Earnayskrum
  5. There are cheats?? I accept no losses. A guy gets killed I go back and start again. I have a mental problem with accepting defeat. I didn't know about the cheats though. hmmmm earnayskrum
  6. ok I see here that there must be some extra missions on GR. I also see a way to 'cheat' to get to tthem. Before I do that, which I don't want to do. tell me, how do I get to the extra missions the honest way? Thanks earnayskrum
  7. Ok, heres the deal. I live in rural ohio. Where high speed internet is considered 19k transfer rate. no online game play no graphics no chance of EVER getting dsl or cable. so there is almost no way I can download Canadian ops2 and/or stabalize since Co2 is 80+ meg and stabalize is over 170 meg. here is my question is there anyone out there who could make me a copy of these files and mail me the cd? I would of course pay for the cd and the mailing? OR is there a place where 'free' files can be purchased and then mailed out? thanks for your help Mark
