Skyclad Posted February 14, 2014 Share Posted February 14, 2014 Hi guys, I have a 3D modeling request. I assume most people here will know the "Mission HX" mod by Hantrox. In this mod there are a number of 3D models included that can be used as objectives: a radio tower, a truck and a couple of crashed helicopters. As far as I can see these models are actually weapons that can be assigned to an invisible actor so they can be used as objectives. I would like to ask if someone here would be willing to make (or convert) a 3D model of an intact helicopter for me which can be used in the same way as the Mission HX models. So it has to be a weapon with the shape of a helicopter. (It doesn't have to be a functional weapon and the .gun file I can make myself, I only need the .qob file.) Or does anyone here know of a simple way to convert a .pob file of an existing helicopter model into a .qob file (with all the required data so it can be held as a weapon) without the use of 3D Studio Max? At the moment I'm using one of the crashed helicopter models from the MHX mod and it does the job but it's weird to see a broken and smashed helicopter hovering in the sky, so if anyone here could help me with this I would be very grateful. My impression is that these models are weapons: In the .gtf files in MHX I can see these models are used by assigning a specific kit to a null actor. These kits include .gun files which point to .qob files which include things like righthandpoint, muzzleflashpoint and brassejectionpoint. In Phlookian's mod the vehicles are .vcl files which point to .pob files which include things like rightwheel and leftwheel. The MHX models also haven't got a collision plane. So it looks like they are weapons instead of vehicles. (Isn't it impossible to use a vehicle in a gametype?) As long as I can get an intact helicopter to show up in my gametypes, instead of a smashed up one, I wouldn't mind if they are weapons, vehicles or vegetables.
