CR6 Posted March 19, 2012 Share Posted March 19, 2012 Once LCD monitors went widescreen, the original resolution aspect ratio was 16:10, hence most larger monitors were 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 (like Tinker's Samsung) However with increased popularity of 16:9 aspect ratio HDTVs the last few years and most of them being 1080p instead of 720p, display manufacturers have decided to go 1920x1080 for computer monitors too I am not too happy about it as even the larger 27" monitors are now 1080p, which is basically like a small HDTV. If I wanted 1080p I would get a 24" - if I got a 27" I would want more pixels stuffed in there, not just larger pixels. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
