GothicSnake
I don't have an XBOX, I had to borrow my friends when I rented GR2 a few months ago. Anyway, is there an XBOX emulator out there that will boot up and at least semi-smoothly run GR2? Cause I can get my hands on a used copy for 20 bucks...and I have the oddest urge to play this game, again, even though it's not all that great. BornToKill
There are no X-box emulators that will run X-box discs (as yet). There are a few X-box emulators that will run the x-box executable files, designed for testing during game development. CXBX and Xeon i think are the names of 2. Kurtz
You should ask Ruggbutt, he has some experience in this area. Maybe he can PM BT for more info.

ARDelta
Rugg was banned by BT (Bulletooth, Ubi's previous Ghost Recon community manager) from Ubi's official GR forums for asking about xbox emulators. At least that's the reason he was banned at first... There's more to the story, but it's not really my place to say. You can find out most of the details in this thread at ghostrecontwo.com. ruggbutt
To add to ARDelta's truthfull telling: BT added "On probation for asking about illegal software" under my avatar on the forums. I found a couple of legal cases that showed that emulators were legal. I posted publicly, told BT he owed me an apology. He threatened to ban me again so I put the links to the court cases underneath my sig. Evidently that upset him. I pushed the limits w/the guy, but he called me a hacker/warez dood publicly, which I'm not and it was unacceptable to me. Ya'll know that I can be a pain and I can handle being called that, but thief I wouldn't put up with. Even though it earned me a ban. cobaka
I would like to add that Rugg has been officially reinstated, but the dammed forum software is carp and the "unbanning" won't stick.
ruggbutt
I'll thank you here too (did at UBI already) for looking into this for me. I appreciate it cobaka. I think the reason that we're all a bit upset about GR2 is because of stuff just like this w/me and cobaka. He's going out of his way to help a fellow out, and we've all seen this kind of stuff as a direct result of the community that came out of GR. It's like a kick in the teeth, but I knew that things weren't gonna bode well for us (the community).

It's slow as Christmas, or should I say GR2 , and is very buggy.

cobaka
Actually, I thought the ironic part about Rugg's situation was that there was one. I thought Dannik posted something, but I could be wrong.
BornToKill
SteelHack So in short..I am assuming the answer to the original question is....No There are emulators that will run the x-box executable files, google it and you will find them. At present there does not appear to be a "Public" X-box emulator that will boot and run and X-box disc. If your a game developer, you can probably buy their X-box Development Kit which will probably do this, but most likely cost you big bucks. ruggbutt
Lemme check and see if I have one. I had someone from a "gaming company" send me some Xbox stuff after I was banned at UBI by BT. I can't discuss who, what or why though.
Dannik
Actually, I thought the ironic part about Rugg's situation was that there was one. I thought Dannik posted something, but I could be wrong.← At the time, there may or may not have been an emulator capable of booting Xbox executables. I simply have not checked the timeline. What was ironic, was BT insisted that folks like Sony would be upset at any emulator info at the Ubisoft forums, since he claimed they were inherently illegal. Sony lost a landmark case with regards to Bleem, which has it's own irony, as the Sony Betamax case was groundbreaking, in terms of copyright law. Oh, and Sony bought the company that was producing Bleem shortly afterwards. If the law can't silence you, money may. Emulators are completely legal in the vast majority of the world, the US included, despite what the DMCA tries to obfuscate.
SteelHack
Guess Im a little confused...If there is indeed an emulator..that would allow GR2 XBOX to be played on a PC....why would UBI not want me to purchase a copy of GR2 XBOX and play it on my PC? Or am I mistaken..and thats not how it works? HACK aka Beast
