We were playing DEFEND mode with 40 enemies on the Embassy *Rain* map, and we were inserted in the hotel. After about ten minutes, all of my team members were dead and I was the last man standing, with nearly 30 enemies remaining. I swung open the metal door leading outside the hotel and waited until the first ten enemies rushed the stairs. One of them managed to pop me in the chest but my armor deflected it. I stuffed magazine after magazine of 5.56mm ammo into my M16A2 rifle as more enemies charged up the stairs. I finally retreated after I blew the door up with a 40mm round fired from my M203 grenade launcher. Pressing my body against the wooden door at the top of the stairs, I listened for the telltale sounds of footsteps padding up the stairs towards me. I felt the door push against me and fired through the door. One down. This happened again. Then like another 20 times.

No joke. I killed twenty-five guys through that door and I only had a few rounds left by the time it was over. There were only 3 enemies left and I fired a grenade down the stairs, knocking the enemy count down to two. I waited for at least ten minutes and finally left the building, muttering something about this being DEFEND mode, not ATTACK. I stepped around the corner and what-do-ya-know, I get nailed right in the chest and I waited for the blue screen of death (After-action screen) that would mock my failure with the long line of 'DEAD' statuses. But wait, I didn't die. Somehow I clicked the trigger and the bullets apparently found the bad dude's head, killing him. Now just one was left. I walked around the corner, with two bullet holes in my chest.

'All Soldiers Have Been Lost.....' I should have guessed it. I couldn't make it out alive and enjoy life as my team nominated me for a Bronze Star. Nope, I got capped by a dude across the map with a blood-spattered cap covering his eyes shooting from the hip with a BB gun. Screw this game.
