Dick Splash
This is a trailer for Bitter Lake. A new film by the documentary film maker, Adam Curtis; http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/adamcurtis/entries/ae14be85-3104-3c74-a9da-85807434a38e/'> Bitter Lake Politicians used to have the confidence to tell us stories that made sense of the chaos of world events. But now there are no big stories and politicians react randomly to every new crisis - leaving us bewildered and disorientated. And journalism - that used to tell a grand, unfurling narrative - now also just relays disjointed and often wildly contradictory fragments of information. Events come and go like waves of a fever. We - and the journalists - live in a state of continual delirium, constantly waiting for the next news event to loom out of the fog - and then disappear again, unexplained. Interestingly enough, this will only air on BBC iPlayer and not on BBC TV. He has a unique style in his film making, using music, unused news footage and quirky archive news footage. Do a search in these forums for Adam Curtis to find his other work. He's also got a blog on the BBC's website. It's more than conspiracy, he makes the world we live in out to be a truly odd place. Rocky
Sounds Interesting, especially since I only just finished watching The Fifth Estate like 3 minutes ago,. I'll check it out thanks.
Dick Splash
First aired Sunday 25th of January, exclusive to BBC iPlayer. Some kind person has already uploaded it to YouTube too. 2 hours and 20 minutes long and well worth the watch. The central topic is Afghanistan and there's some great quirky footage.
