Usually when you try to reach a server and you dont have the same version thats what it says. If I could find where to get the proper version, I would do that. Also, I don't think they say what the version is supposed to be that is current. Blame Posted February 2, 2015 Share Posted February 2, 2015 In the server info it should say what version of the game that server is running, modded servers have the mod name displaying instead of the usual "this server is using version 1.05" which turns into "rahnman's mod v4.0" when there is a weapon mod running in the server. Are you talking about the RaS clan from Argentina? Because if its their server your talkin about, im pretty sure they shut down their server a while ago. I believe I can now log in as usual now and active servicers will appear just as before I am rerouted to these servers under a different sponser and they should work. I think the problem is the servers that are showing up now are different from those before the original place shutdown and the game the present I have not installed their current version, ever! Example, if they presented "NOWHERE", I probably would have the correct version because I played that game all the time. Blame Posted February 9, 2015 Share Posted February 9, 2015 You don't see constant 24/7 servers full at all time, if the online multiplayer aspect of the game is gone, that means the game is dead, doesn't matter whether its 3 servers with max 20 people using them for even organized events, the game is DEAD, I know you don't want to accept that fact, but you know its the truth. If you played 3-4 years ago, it wasn't that bad, I saw the community dissapearing, the reasons for that? Mainly all the server admins banning people for no reason (mostly RaS server admins), I had friends who were changing IP's so they could play, one guy even made videos and was in multiple clans that were a part of surviving GRAW2 community, I talked to him and the reason why he quit was because he kept getting banned from servers because people thought he was cheating, when he clearly had video proof on youtube about how he plays, the reason I quit was mainly because I got banned for doing silly stuff (for my own fun), using 100% clearly visible positions at the edge of the map and just dominating in general. Yes I've been saying that the game is dying for a few years, because I have been there to witness it. Ain't nothing here anymore that could save the game, the only way you could see the game being revived if some famous youtubers would promo the game without any benefit for themselves. I have tried to do my best to keep the game alive, along with game/share by creating the launcher to make it somewhat easier for players to update their dns setting. Comments such as "the game is dead" does little to encourage anyone who has recently bought the game to engage what is left of the community and undermines the efforts of gameshare. If you can't say something positive then keep your negativity to yourself, have some respect for the boys at gameshare who have invested a huge amount of time, money and effort into reverse engineering the gamespy protocol and have done so without asking for a cent of support from those who still play it. The truth is Blame used to get banned because he expected it was his God given right to play on servers - it cost cold hard cash to run a GRAW2 server (Not to mention the effort) and any player who is a hotshot or not needs to understand it's not a free ride If you don't support the server and community you play on then you need to suck it up buddy, I used to get banned on many US servers but when I engaged the community concerned with a supportive attitude (Donating money) I was always well received. Great job, if I can get on a game, I will, we all know how hard it is to get things started like before. Before, I would login even if I am the only one and wait, in order to attract other players. That always worked. During slow times, players would look at the game and see no one playing and move on. There are a lot of us that are not knowledge enough to figure things out and making it easier, which looks like you are trying to do, then we will eventually figure it out and get on board. I'm not a good player but I am competitive and enjoy playing mostly multiplayer, but enjoy coop too. I'm not sure if you know my history, but John found out how old I was (75 at the time) and interviewed me to find out what makes me tick and compete with all those younger guys. That interview is posted somewhere on this site. Oh, I will be 80 in a few months. Anyway, thanks, keep up the good works and it will fire up eventually, once us more ignorant, figure it out. have a nice day...
