Chems
lol, picking his butt! As a new mapper I must say the detail is stunning. The TV in the pool table room, the trick RSE do is instead of a normal screen they make a glass pain and put that in then apply a texture on, even of a program, you could even try an animating RSB, then when you shoot the TV the screen breaks. I like that one. Rawker had it in his map too. once again nice one!
deleyt
LOL..I didn't even notice him picking it....ah well...sitting in a ditch can make you catch all kinds of crawly-greeny-2000 legged-beasts (and they BITE!). You would scratch too. I got the tv-sreen animating with a sequence but didn't think of putting glass in front. Good one Chems, thanks. I did set it up for the mirror though. OSO
I confess that I have a castle fetish too. This looks like a very sweet map gents! I'm glad to see that you lost the grass texture in the earlier shots for a detail texture.
deleyt
I'm glad to see that you lost the grass texture in the earlier shots for a detail texture. Thanks. The grass was just a quick filler. We use a general GR detailtexture right now as a test but that will be replaced by a custommade one (like all other textures). Quick update: most rooms and stairs are textured and surfacetagged now. I've also started on making the castle look worn out (IE: broken off pieces on the castlewall, rubble on the floor, textures are made "old", stuff like that). After that the tunnels will be textured and detailed. I could post a couple of new screenshots of some rooms and some nice objects in the scene but I guess I'll wait with that untill I have most of the castle done. Zeko has restarted remodelling the terrain (is it terrain number 6 Z? he's such a perfectionist ) as we are using a new technique for making a river. It does work but we are having some issues when it's combined with the fog. So need to investigate some more on that.

deleyt
I just had the funniest thing: I didn't like the glasstexture and the way it affected colours shining thru. So I decided to change it all together and adjust it. Opened Photoshop, changed the main texture, changed the alpha, took me 10 minutes of work. Saved the picture and fired up GR. When I was in the game: WOOOT!..no change! I figured there must be something wrong with the alpha, so closed GR and went back in PS again. Adjusted the alpha some more, saved it again and fired GR up again. GEEZ..am I blind or what? I simply couldn't notice any change. I repeated this 5 times after this and every single time there was no noticeable change. In order to notice any change I had messed up the glass-texture so much at the end that it looked more like a rock than a windowpane. After adjusting that single image for 2 hours and 7 different textures I finally came up with the solution: I had been saving the texture into my working-folder instead of the GR-folder. deleyt
*bump* Any new screenies for the forum? That map looks like it's gonna be a good one. More screenies in a day or 2-3. I'll probably have the tunnels done by that time and Zeko the basic terrain.
