pz3
Adobe released its 4th quarter sales and profits were up. How up? A cool 1 billion. http://diginomica.com/2016/12/19/adobes-gambit-pays-off-subscription-revenue-accounts-78-total/ I remember I wanted to mod a video game once. I needed photoshop. Then the next thing hit me in the gut, a 700$ price tag was associated with said software. What adobe did different this last year was IMO brilliant. They introduced consumer pricing and subscriptions. Photoshop CS6 being the last software to use the previous license system came with a whopping $1500ish price tag. This last year they pushed Photoshop out the door with another software called light room in a bundle deal they called the photographer plan. For only 10$ a month. If I had any guess as to why they seen such a huge increase in revenue it is exactly this. People who wanted the product could actually now afford it. Something thats been majorly plaguing software giants for decades. If I had one word of advice for industries and software companies. Low Price Subscriptions for consumers solves problems. Zeealex
Autodesk have done a similar thing, and I believe their profits are also up compared to before they used a subscription system but AD's software is still hella expensive, unlike adobe they push out major updates 3 times every year. seems like the way to go for sure.
Sart
I edit PDFs a lot, and Adobe gets roughly $155 a year from me due to Acrobat DC's annual "subscription". Money I could be spending on more important things. $1500 for Photoshop is insane. With that kind of cash, you could easily buy a new liver in Bangladesh.

Sart
Yeah that's pretty cool. Photoshop for $120 is worlds better than something like Acrobat DC BASIC for $155.
Rocky
Quote This last year they pushed Photoshop out the door with another software called light room in a bundle deal they called the photographer plan. For only 10$ a month. That sound like a pretty good deal. unfortunately I just shelled out for Corel PSP a couple of months ago when it was discounted. A monthly cloud service is appealing though because of the regular updates it would receive.
pz3
Lightrooms good too. Its not a bad piece of software for photographers by any means. Easy to correct large batches of photos really quick.
