Wombat50's "Migryder Festival Mod"

Thanks MrMoon, Shakealeg and Rocky. The smoke textures aren't to difficult to do with Photoshop.

However, I really struggle in PS with the animated explosions. I have an old version of After Effects that may help

but it is a whole new world compared to PS.

The effect for smoke from a destroyed tank is one texture. I don't know enough about mission making to determine if this is a scripted event or the GR engine does it automatically when a piece of armor is destroyed. But the engine does take that single texture and gives it a path and twirls it too. One of those hard coded things we will never figure out how?

Been watching some after effects tutorials and stumbled on these examples.

The after effects part is way beyond me but the music in these clips is very appealing.

Especially the first one.

Finally started on an "Effects Mission"

As usual I get easily distracted and got to wondering if an AT4 rocket leaves a trail of smoke as it does in GR.

Found several YT vids that show little if any smoke trail so I have blacked out the alpha on that texture,

rocket_smoke.rsb.

Of course it effects smoke_medium_type1 and smoke_large_type1. :wall:

What effect I saw mostly in the YT vids is a small red glow the rocket produces in flight. I'm almost certain there is a

a texture for the AT4 projectile but I can't find it now.

What, no bridge map from P2? Just messin' with friend...looks good wombat, see what you can do to get it released,..hopefully the CENTCOM team would be open to some modding of their work this late in the game?

you know I seem to recall that smoke and fire can be set with some parameters..or there are at least choices as to which effect file is used post explosion...been a long time since I looked into IGOR related affairs though...can you reach Phlookian? He might have advice...

Hey Mig,

We have been playing P2 allot on the NH server lately. Easily our favorite.

I hadn't thought about Phlookian but he would know if anyone does about anything GR.

Probably leave Centcom out of the mod if it is released. I PM'ed jay316 but never heard back.

I have done some alterations to Centcom on our team server but I think that is fair game.

yea, they were very strict about CENTCOM, have you considered any of the stuff that DTD did, they had some maps IIRC...I wanted to do an addon mission for P2 using Battlebourne's woodland map but I always had problems getting all the stuff to render properly with the winter effects that somebody did so I never got it done...to do any work in IGOR I would have to buy a new GR copy since I lost my key...well, I could work on my old machine, the one that housed all of the P2 work and other stuff I worked on...but I hate to fire it up even as it always has tons of updating to do and I'm limited for bandwidth..yet I have NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 and really want to see GR using that, especially some of those winter maps...I'm curious if anybody else even plays P2, I never see any posts about it when I visit...I hope that modders are at least using some of the assets that are in that mod for their own creations...I don't know if Rocky got around to finishing the SP. Do you NH ever play Africa Burning or any of those mission packs? I guess I never fixed Glass Frog(Guatemala...) to complete if ya won playing coop..if you want you can take a stab at it and release that fix...now there is a coop challenge...hope you get your PMod released. Keep the dream alive.

It's still on my list Mig, I never finished it but it's on my list of mods to complete, I loved playing P2, great missions.

MrMoon and Tinker use allot of assets from P2, especially Phlook's placeable objects.

We compiled most of your mission packs into one mod and play them with P2. Its called MigFest.

NH's never beat Glass Frog and we have tried numerous times. We never got far enough for a mission completion.

Scott said he and Wayne never beat it either. Scott and Rob are meeting in New York this week.

tell Scott I said hello, he's the only GR.net member I've met in person...we had a good time when he came to these parts..if I ever make it to your part of the world I'll let ya know ahead of time...maybe you could just release that Fest mod, might be a way for newer members to get at all those missions in one package? Up to NH team.

I may compile my GR edits with all your mission packs. I'll have to do some testing but that would be a decent mod made better by all those fine missions you made. Thanks for the idea and permission to do it. I'll say hello to Scott for you.

No plans to do that. Always liked the look of the FB maps and especially the P2 maps.

Got a nice sniper sd sound and made a different billboard effect 2. Maybe A short vid later.

Got the sniper sd off of YT. They were shooting a Mk21 with a suppressor.

Always liked the original M98 sniper sound. Just satisfying.

Thanks! Need some help on how to play a short bit of music upon mission completion.

The "DeclareMissionComplete" response seems to cut it short.
