Sound card and headset

Recommended Posts

I'm using SoundBlaster X-Fi HD with THX Tru Studio Pro external audio interface along with Creative Aurvana Live! cans (I have unfinished audio business to be getting on with so....) Testing these out to see how they compare with my AKG cans. :)

OMG, 299 Euros, that's ridiculous. Get Steel/stealth series Siberian V2, they're like half the price and a really high quality headset.

same, these are epic!!!...

I'd stay away from 5.1 surround headphones too, they're not really all that..

Thing is my TruStudio is conflicting with the onboard sound, I think. It works, for deffo, I've got the external hardware interface running, but the software won't let me edit any settings in TruStudio, even says device not found - except that it is found because the device shows up in Windows sound manager thing on taskbar (it's selected as my deafult audi device.) Andd it gets better, there is no setting in BIOS to disable onboard sound. I've checked this twice myself and once with another person.

I have a SB X-Fi PCIe card for my gaming rig and the crystalizer does make a difference for the audio. They aren't too expensive these days and you can actually use the PCIe slot in your computer for something!!!
