Open maps in the editor?

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

iam working on a custom map movie, and want to do a szene from the editor to ingame.

I want to record the place in the editor, and later compare it to a ingame scene (fight).

Is it possible to load aready maps like tdm_forrest_v4?

If it is, can somebody explain it to me?

Beware! Iam noob :(

Boing ... I did all what "Davros" said in that movie. But iam unable to load the map into the editor. I already run it win windowed mode, but i dont know how to load the map into the editor :wall:

OS: Vista 32 (compat. mode XP, run as admin) => graw2_editor.exe

I finally extracted the bundle, and copied "textures and levels" into Data (standard Data folder).

But what next? Maybe my english is too bad to understand all in his movies and texts on pbwiki.

Thx for help ! ;)

Hi Ares,

To open a map into a editor go to 'data/levels/custom_levels/map_name/' and here open a notepad and paste this line.

C:\Program Files\UBISOFT\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2\graw2.exe" -o context-editor.xml -path map_name

Ofcourse change directory if u have different. Save this called 'editor.bat'. To run map just click on this file and graw2 editor should be open.

Read the posts in this forum, then you ve a perfect description!

Its not done in "5 minutes" at the first time.

The maps you need are in the "quick.bundle".

How to extract it is perfectly shown by davros VIDEO.

Kind Regards

Ares

:wall:

Hi all.

So i'm following the wiki and dav's very helpful vids, but i'm stuck at trying to get the editor to open...

i'm on windows 7 and it's being very stubborn in letting the editor.bat file open.. just flashes up a cmd window then nothing happens.

copied and pasted the same lines from the wiki into the editor.bat as i'm working with the (coop)urban_conflict map also.

the regular editor from the root GRAW:2 folder opens fine.

what could i have missed?

thanks in advance, Mullet.

edit: i am a dummy.. just had missed the inverted commas around the file path in teh .bat

carry on.. hehe :)

Hi Mullet.

Welcome to the modding club !

Glad to hear it was as simple as a typo. Excellent.

Please do not hesitate to post if something is unclear and also please feel free to edit/update the wiki with anything you think will make it easier for others to understand.

It's a public wiki, so feel free to edit/change as you wish - you just need to register.

And a word of advice, do not feel like your mission needs to be perfect. I remember some of the best GR missions were less than perfect...so just have fun and look forward to helping out.

Dav.
