WhiteKnight77
While my current 19" ViewSonic CRT works fine, I am considering a new LCD. What 20-22" monitors do y'all recommend? TIA
JoshuaOneSix
A great budget option is at Best Buy. they have a good Acer 23" monitor for $249 (40,000 to 1 ratio and 5 ms response time). Rated 4.7 out of 5 stars. Better Deal on the same monitor... Newegg has it Acer Monitor for $189. I've ordered a lot from them over the years and never been disappointed. I bought a slightly smaller (2o") Acer monitor and love it (had it about 3 monthes now). The one complaint I have against both these monitors is that the base is not adjustable, but otherwise it is perfect for GR and a great buy. Fletch
I have a LG FLATRON L227WTG an love it. At the time I bought it it was side by side with the more expensive models and I could watch the same images on all of them. I liked the LG better. CR6
WK, if you are going to spend some extra coin on a Falcon system, I'd suggest you seriously consider going for a 24" in monitor. I have a ViewSonic 22" at home (1680x1050 res) and a Dell Ultrasharp 24" at work (1920x1200 res) and the extra 2 inches make a big difference. Also, with a 24" you can properly view 1080p on your computer, and it's nice to have 1200 vertical pixels to do image editing etc. You probably won't buy another monitor for years, so I would argue a larger screen is worth the extra funds. If you don't go for a 24", I wouldn't recommend you settle for less than a 22"
Cpl Ledanek
WK, if you are going to spend some extra coin on a Falcon system, ........ a Dell Ultrasharp 24" at work (1920x1200 res) +1 on this...the difference between 07 & 08 model is the HDCP-whatever setup to watch Blu-ray...I don't watch BR movies on my pc becoz of this:
GRAWChump
I don't recommend anyone buy a 20-22in. I prefer 23.6 with 1080p or larger. If you're very fussy with IQ, you can still get a handful of 24's with 8 bit panels{non-TN}. I have a 26in 1920x1200 8 bit Acer and even FEAR and Qauke4 look awesome, in fact Fear is still one of the best looking games.
