First Rainbow Six Vegas, then Mercenaries 2, now GRAW 2? I don't complain about how South Park mocks people from Colorado! Jeez, some people are too sensitive.

Hmmm... old news. This was posted on some other site about a day after the 360 version was released. Funny thing though...

Actually, I think it is two different instances. When it first came out I think it was an official in Jaurez that had a problem with the game.

That may be true. So there are two losers out there.

And whoever said ignorance is bliss? That sounds reasonable, confiscating the game. How about finding out exactly what it is about. I didn't think the game was about a civilian revolt. People are way too sensitive these days..its getting absolutely ridiculous. Someone needs to fill this dude in on the full story.

this is because the truth hurts. these two regimes aren't what they make themselves out to be. North Korea was a good idea. too bad the PC crowd had to miss out on it.

LOL.

ignorance is everywhere. Its like when the extreme right got all upset about kids reading Harry Potter. thought it was teaching them devil worship.

That's me your talking about....don't consider myself "extreme right." But won't let my kids become a part of the Harry Potter world, or any other similar fantasy. My right to feel that way, your right to disagree.

Tort,

Make sure they dont hear about jack and his magic bean stalk either. or any greek mythology like when people fly on horses with wings etc. Dr. Suess might influence them badly as well. All those cats in hats and magical mystical worlds Dr. Suess conjured up and such. they might get the wrong idea, go down the wrong road, and then grow up to play violent video games like GRAW, hating God all the while.

Obvioulsy, I'm being facetious. You, as a father, have the right to expose them or limit their exposure to whatever you want. But you and I both know that what they grow up to believe in their heart is determined by the love you give them and message you give them every day. Not some fantasy book.

Good luck keeping them away from the outside world as it is. if you can pull it off till they are 8, you have done better than most. by 9, their freinds, the TV you dont know they are watching etc and relatives etc will start filling in the gaps.

Good luck to you sir.

Wether it's the Bible and the extreme left, or Harry Potter and the extreme right, it's the same story. Someone is trying to forcefeed their beliefs on you (quite the opposite of free, IMHO).

Every parent needs to draw that line for their kid(s). Whether it's Harry Potter or porn, it needs to be drawn somewhere. If you bring up your kids allowing them free reign of internet porn, R-rated movies and exposure to drugs....then I wish YOU good luck.

I allow Harry Potter at my home, because I don't believe it's the anti-Christ. I also believe as you, that fantasy is a part of mental development. The most important part of that being the ability to distinguish between reality and fantasy. A movie like Pulp Fiction is not my personal choice for this development. Some other parent may disagree, and I respect that. You should respect that too, because the argument you make can be applied to any parenting rule. That leads to a home with no defined boundries, and I'm pretty sure that would be bad.

Back on topic:

Poor Mexicans....no GRAW fo u. Maybe some migrant workers can smuggle cases of GRAW2 from the States and make a few extra bucks. At least we'll see some of that U.S. currency being spent in the U.S., as opposed to being wired across the border.

The only 'Unofficial Expansion Pack' I always missed in [GR] was 'Ghost Recon 2'. In a way CENTCOM fills in that gap now. Though it would be nice if someone would have pulled off a mod that was nearly the same (with [GR] limitations in mind) as the Official GR2 campaign/maps.

Or dit I miss something?

Btw. Ontopic. Here in the Netherlands, 'The Land Where Everything Is Allowed' politic is shifting towards more conservative grounds. They are patronising us more and more. The game 'Bully' (a.k.a. Canis Canem Edit) became a political issue because they (the politicians) were in the believe that 'a game where bullying is the main goal' is harmfull and incorrect for children. A big political riot was on hands, starting a possible censureship on video games. The stupid thing is that a lot of discussions were made on false information. None of the politicians ever took the liberty to check in with the developer and ask what the game was really about. These man and woman are the same who decide if a land goes into war or not. Jeez, I really feel unsafe now

Well in the end it was all hushed and nothing happened, because some gamemags and gameprograms started a counterattack by giving the media info about the actual gameplay and storyline. In the end the whole fuss was build around the name of the game and had nothing to do with the actual gameplay, in which some other games could be considdered much more harmfull.

Yep, politicians can be very ignorent and jumping conclusions with incomplete or even false/wrong information. Thats very dangerous, those shortcommings can lead to wars..... .... oh, that already happened before right?

:P
