EasyCo
IGN: Do you have plans to support the modding community? Nouredine Abboud: There will be a map editor. The idea is to give the community access to the same tools as the development team, and give them the same amount of control. Lars Bonde: Ghost Recon had a very strong modding community and we are trying to adapt to them and foster them as well. We want to give them access to the tools for GRAW, which is possibly one of the most modded games. IGN: Finally, what spec machine are you planning on optimising GRAW2 for? Nouredine Abboud: We're aiming at the same spec machine for GRAW 2 as we did with the first GRAW. We haven't moved our config requirements higher and we've optimised as much as we can. Lars Bonde: We've had it running on a GeForce 7900 GTX, 3.2 GHz P4, with 1.5GB of RAM, which is pretty basic. It also runs on a 7900 GT and a 7800 GT, so we're planning to cater for as much of the PC community as we can. Linky
Nutlink
We want to give them access to the tools for GRAW, which is possibly one of the most modded games. I think he meant to say Ghost Recon, not GRAW for this little piece. As it is I'm glad that there'll be a map editor upon release. I wonder if it'll be in the same manner as GRAWs editor or if it'll be adjusted some how.

NoQuarter
Nouredine Abboud:...There's also the Mule, which is a support vehicle that bring news weapons such as grenades onto the battlefield, and can also be used by the Ghosts as cover. Of course, you can always pick up weapons mid-mission, but the Mule offers another way to re-supply and change tactics.Say again? Nouredine Abboud: You can also choose what gear you take on the mission and modify the weapons with silencers or, depending on the situation, grenade launchers, plus you can pick the team-members you take with you.Hopefully that means that the team will have differing skill levels/sets and that if Brown dies in Mission#2 he doesn't show up in the roster for Mission#3. Papa6
A GeForce 7900GTX, 3.2 GHz P4, with 1.5GB of RAM is pretty basic? No it's not basic. whew! the specs climbed while we were out.
-Corax-
A P4 is kinda basic these days... RAM these days are dirt cheap too... the 7900GTX cards are soon to drop in price when the new AMD (formerly ATI) and nVIDIAs (8950GX2 or whatever its gonna be called) it will be sooner than later... I guess it would suck if you just bought a computer below par. Edited February 16, 2007 by -Corax-
rookie
A GeForce 7900GTX, 3.2 GHz P4, with 1.5GB of RAM is pretty basic? Yeah, I do have the same look on my face. After GRAW with just 1024 and medium settings with my GF 6800 Ultra I can kiss GRAW2 good bye. Naah, I would try a demo anyway.
Hacksaww
Sorry for the poor image quality, but what are these guns that I saw on a screenshot? I can't tell if they are something new or just pistols. Any thoughts?

They haven't changed the graphics at all really, only sharpened textures here and there, or so it would seem. I'm sure whatever got you by for GRAW will get you by for GRAW 2. GRIN_Wolfsong
Anything right below Duo Core is basic these days. The early Duo Cores are starting to step into the basic category. That said... I'm still using my P4 1.8GHz... which I'll fix when I hopefully geta job this comming summer. Bota:16
Glad to get something official about the map editor. Things really sound like they are turning out great for GRIN and GRAW 2. Now I would love to SEE how things are turning out instead of just hearing about them .
Rocky
Yeh, this sounds like good news for modders. Add to that Tom Anger's preparations for GRAW2 modding and things are really looking up on that front.

Agreed sounds good and the system specs are fine, we get a good idea about the specs running long before the official stats on minimum sys req. Big help indeed. Its the servers Im thinking about in relation to sys specs too. Who is Nouredine Abboud apart from lead, is this a french name have Ubisoft infiltrated the internal corridors of Grin.......???? Not very Swedish sounding eh? Nouredine is the french Ubisoft Game Producer. I'm a bit confused since inside all these interviews and press releases it's claimed that the PC version will be more tactical oriented and stuff, but why can't I then give my comrades via "crosscom fullscreen" an order in the PC version while I can do this in the 360 version? O.O Did you miss this part: Lars Bonde: There's also the interactive part of using the buddy-cam to move the guys around and actually issuing full orders from their perspective. You could almost just have your guys run around and complete the whole mission for you, just by issuing orders through the buddy-cam. Papa6
I saw the vid from the new xbox360 version. long distance shots in rural/open environments..nice. But I'm concerned with the Diesel engine . it doesn't give us long range shots. i couldn't stand in graw sitting in one spot and then watching someone appear from behind the clipping plane. I hope the coders for GRAW2 can extend or allow us to manipulate the clip distance. NOTE: PLZ refer to my avatar.. .... -Papa6 Edited February 16, 2007 by Papa6
