2nd Ranger
Sounds like the producers took a page out of the Bourne Identity. Anyone else get this impression? Everybody is comparing it to the Bourne movies. I don't know if the filmmakers made a conscious decision to make Bond more like Bourne, but I certainly got that impression when he strangled that guy at the bottom of the stairwell. It is exactly like the scene in the Bourne Supremacy when Bourne kills the other Treadstone agent. I thought the first action sequence at the construction site was the best part. It all went down from there.. I don't think it went downhill (except in pacing terms), but at this point I would like to give special mention to the scene on the crane where the bomber throws his empty gun at Bond, who catches it, and throws it back at the guy's head. Awesome. Also, I like the theme song by Chris Cornell.
JTF-2
Craig is Awesome. Best Bond since Sean easy. Eva Green's character is really, really good. The best bond girl ever. The newspapers have been saying it for a while now, but the Bond franchise has finally recognized the world around it. It helps that the plot is so good too -- it was, after all, an original Ian Fleming novel.
FA sear
This actually may be the first Bond movie I have seen in a LONG time. I have only seen a few Bond movies as I generally think the movies are just too cheesy for my taste, but this one seems like it will be worthwhile seeing. Rocky
This is too funny, Richard Branson's cameo role has been edited out of the Bond movie - shown in flight on a rival airway LOL! How sad is that. I'm surprised the movie's publisher allows it actually. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6579839.stm British Airways has removed a shot of Virgin Atlantic boss Sir Richard Branson from the in-flight version of the James Bond movie Casino Royale. Sir Richard was seen briefly in the original film, passing through an airport security scanner, but can only be seen from behind in the new edit. Stalker_Zero
Excuse me but in-flight or not how can an airline be allowed to do that? They would have had to pay the Brocolli people for the right?
2nd Ranger
They can do whatever the hell they want with it. It's stupid, yeah, but I'm more annoyed over the fact that I have never once had the option of watching a movie as cool as Casino Royale on a flight. It's always The Whole Ten Yards or some crap. Rocky
I really can't understand how they are allowed to do that. For example, say in one of their cuts, they remove just a few seconds of an item included as product placement, say a BMW, or a seiko watch, whatever. A lot of money is paid out to get those items displayed in Bond movies, even if only for a few seconds. If one of those sponsers knew that their products airtime had been reduced, I'd say they would have a very good court case on their hands, that's the way I see it anyway. Strange one. Gav80
Or, worse than a BMW or a Seiko watch, what if they cut the already-far-too-short scenes with the Aston Martin DBS??? That car is the best bit of the film!!
Stalker_Zero
I think Rocky has a point. Besides the MPAA grilling poor innocents like us shouldn't the MPAA get involved here? Hasn't copyright infringement happened? I mean material was altered right?

I mean material was altered right?Legally, what they've done is no different than when a movie is edited for content so that it can be shown on TV. So, no, it's not copyright infringement. WhiteKnight77
I finally saw this movie after I bought the DVD. It was pretty good I thought. It joins my James Bond Ultimate Edition with all 20 previous movies on one disk and special features on another (yeah 40 disks for $240) on my DVD shelf.
