New Bond Movie

Recommended Posts

Anyone who has seen it or knows someone who has etc any feedback on it ... is it any good?

Im guessing it has less cheese and is more in-line with the first film, a litte more streamlined, is that the case?

I think it will be great. It is going to be alot harder and grittier, with more visceral violence and character (blah blah character blah, I'm only interested in the killing).

Anyway, reviews have been good.

IMO Craig looks a lot tougher than Brosnan. I'll definately watch it.

;)

I have to agree, the previouse Bonds were all too skinny and wimpy looking. IMO, this Bond simply looks more like THE Bond. Not that Craig looks like a big tough guy, but he at least does not look like the 140lbs weakling that you see being picked on in high school.

Roger Moore was the worst ... complete cheese acting ... more like a adaptation from a comic book when he did it.

Hmm, sounds good .. didnt realise it wasnt out yet, seemed like it was with all the chatter on radio etc.

Apparently none of the 'bond' actors will be at the premier, but 'Boycie' from 'Only fools and Horse' is amongst some of the guests.

And i still haven't bought my Tux yet.

Tickets - Free.

Tux - £200.

Totty - Way outa my league.

Something doesn't add up

roger moore is a good actor but he was no bond. he was too much of a stereotypical dry british man.

He also needed a stuntman to do running scenes for him, because he has big flat clown feet.

Well for me........Daniel Craig IS THE NEW JAMES BOND!!!!

My initial impressions were correct.

And that was that this new guy was going to play James Bond as a no nonsense, get the job done, kill whomever stands in his way type of Bond.

And in the movie he does just that. There wasn't any fancy Q gadgets or some nonsensical know it all who wants to take over the world.

Just Bond and his pistol in a story that seems like something MI6 would actually do. Oh, and there was brutal hand to hand combat as well. Cool stuff. :shifty:

Very very refreshing stuff really. And I think the end of the movie is a build up for a story in a sequel.

Go see it. I give the movie a thumbs up.

Shaken but not stirred .. Maaaarleeeeeeeeeeeeen. :D

A few have seen this now and said its 3 hours long or there abouts and it starts to drag a bit. Also hes more of a maverick and not sticking to protocol much and is a bit less invincible as other bond movies ... is that a true statement?

I think I will go and see this soon though.

2 and a 1/2 hours actually. lol and since when is bond ever NOT a maverick who doesn't stick to protocol? :P

And I think what some might call "dragged a bit" was really probably the casino royale scenes which I thought were suspenseful. Ya know, with the classic villains staring at each other across the poker table looking all ultra cool with such high stakes being played for n stuff. Instant classic bond stuff imo.

Less invincible? Don't misunderstand.......he plays this Bond tougher than any of the others in my opinion.

You DON'T want to mess with this guy.

But at the same time he keeps it real and lets you know at the same time that hes a human being too.

You have to respect that.

IMO though I think they kept the budget for this one probably a little lighter than in bond movies of the past. I mean, no multi-million dollar off-shore secret headquarters or orbiting space stations of doom this time around.

:P It wasn't that type of movie.

I see great great potential in Daniel Craig and future bond flicks. In future movies though I think they can do more....much more. As long as they stay away from crap that you might see Tom Cruise do in mission impoosible 7 or something. LOL

Perhaps this movie was a test for him by the brocolli production people to see what he can do.

I say he passes with flying colors.

I agree. I like the new Bond. No weird and wonderful gadgets to assist him, just his pistol and the occasional steak knife, brutal hand-to-hand combat, and Bond that could be defeated at cards! I mean, when have you ever saw a Bond losing his cool because he was beat at the card table?

I like it. 7 out of 10.

It was certainly grittier, the opening fight scene was more like something out of a tarantino film, almost.

Stunts were amazing as usual, Sony got the placements as usual, unusually (as already mentioned), no Q gadgets :o which was a shame really. Babes are still there though - no booth babe syndrome here!

Did anyone spot the Richard Branson cameo? I was like :o but Mrs Rocky never noticed him at all - he's on screen for probably less than a second though. I googled for info when I got home and it turns out he let them use one of his planes, in return for being in the movie LOL. So him and his son got to be in a 007 movie, staring right at the camera, with that big stoopid grin, kind of like :D actually.

Enjoyed it anyway, good film.

I loved it, I think Craig fits bond alot better than Pierce Brosnan, hes up there in the better bond actors. The whole casino thing was cool too. Definatley a must see. The action was really intense even from the first scene.

2 and half hours? serisously! when I was a kid a movie was 1hour and forty minutes...until that day when Dancing with wolves came out and ruined movie experiences for people with short attentionspans...for ever! now you are lucky to find any films at all under 2 hours, sucks. dont get me started on king kong. hehe. however Im probably gonna catch it tommorow, the reviews been good and even tho the last bond movies sucked ass there is some weird appeal to it that makes you go and watch the next one..

I thought the first action sequence at the construction site was the best part. It all went down from there. Dunno, I just was expecting something different. I wanted more action and fighting and less card playing. Guess I'm spoiled with all the games I play. :D

Sounds like the producers took a page out of the Bourne Identity. Anyone else get this impression?
