PSU 3GHz?

Recommended Posts

I have the specs in my sig, and was curious, how many more MHz can it take? And how powerful of a gfx card do I need?

I take it you mean how many more mhz can your psu take? Seeing as a 3ghz cpu uses only a few more volts then a lower powered one, it should be able to handle that easily.

As for graphics, what do you mean 'how powerful'? The budget's the limit isn't it?

Yeah you are answering right lol. Cause I do plan to upgrade to a new mobo as you know, and hope to go say Ti4600 right. So could it bascially take a Ti4600 and possibly in the future a 3GHz P4 (take away the MX440).

Stinger, you're fine, I have a ti4600, they recommend at least 300 watt, and nvidia's next generation card, according to previews, will be recommending 350 watt. So with the extra mhz you want and a ti 4600 you should be fine powerwise. Daywanderer seems to like his ATI 9700 Pro, but that will cost you bigger bucks as will Nvidia's next release. Read up on the ti version cards. I've seen several reviews in the past that state a ti 4400 is comparable to a 4600 but cheaper. I won mine in a drawing which is why I have it.

Thanks TRC! If I had to by a new PSU too that would set me back more and mean later still that I get new vid and mobo. :(
