Major Maximum
well okay I got this really cheap-o HP scanner almost a year back, and ever since I got my new Rig last christmas...It hasn't worked. I downloaded the winXP update...but that just made this error message keep popping up every 10 seconds.... now whenever i try to scan something, it says "cannot locate your scanner" and I am posotive it is hooked up. Dark Ranger
Well, depending on which model you purchased, some scanners come with drivers or software apps that enable the computer to recognize the new hardware. If so, you will have to reinstall the drivers/software in order for your scanner to work. You might also try looking in your Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manger and look for your scanner...and check both the power and USB or Serial cable to make sure it's connected. If you still can't get it to work, post back with the model number and any other relevant information and I'll see if I can dig up some support info for ya. Good luck bro. Major Maximum
well for some reason there is no "imaging devices" tab in the device manager...I've already sent an eMail to HewlettPackerd support about this, and they haven't replied yet. anyway, the scanner is an HP Scanjet 3300C.
