I've never read From the Earth to the Moon.

I have read 20,000 Leagues under the Sea and Master of the World. They're good.

Mostly (as far as SciFi goes) I read Robert Heinlein and David Drake.

Ever get the chance, track down The Rats, The Bats and The Vats, the sequel, The Rats, The Bats and the Ugly or Pyramid Scheme by Dave Freer and Eric Flint.

Absolutely brilliant. (Escpecially Pyramid Scheme if you're into Greek myths)

There are a few others there. It's good for sci-fi.

For older books of any type, Jules Verne to Jane Austen to Immanuel Kant to whatever.....

It should be. Baen is an American publisher that specializes in Sci-Fi and fantasy. That's all they do.

I'll have to look into this one in more detail tomorrow.

No problem. I'd have figured it out in no time.

Dave Freer is my best friend's dad....
I see, I guess that's why you've heard of him. I never had before now.

He's absolutly brilliant though.

Especially Pyramid Scheme.

Went for my first driving lesson. Didn't hit anything. :(

nice, manuels are better anyway.

Car i smashed was a manuel, and the new one is auto. Sure, auto is very lazy, but i think i still prefer manuel.

You're sad you didn't hit anything? In that case better luck next time.

Still nothing after the second lesson (and third time on the streets of eShowe....)

Very disappointing really. The people kept dodging.

Cowards.

You might have better luck around a university. Students tend to pull out of parking lots without looking (at least they do here in America). And pedestrians never look before they cross the street.

Best of luck!

It does. I'm not going get to a university until next year February. By then I should have my license.

I live out in the middle of nowhere too. 1 hour drive each way every day. But at least by living with parents out in the country, I don't have to pay rent or buy food.

Let's see, I'm 45 minutes from Empangeni, about 88km (1 hour with traffic) from Richards Bay and about 1/5 hours north of Durban.

###### end of the world.

It isn't that bad really.

And it is a town.

A small town.

I finished Rats, Bats & Vats the day before yesterday. It's good. It's very funny.

I started Pyramid Scheme yesterday. I'm only to chapter 20 something. It's good so far.

Lately I haven't had as much time to read as I'd like to.

It's funny, I had planned to post this today, and I log on and find you asking about it.
