There are two active dedicated servers you can join via IP. One dedicated server on GameRanger. There's a steam group of GR players (not very active as of late) and a few groups on facebook. I've been trying to round up some players to get some more action in this game but I myself have been pretty inactive lately. Crazy busy. Steam - delinkwent907 GameRanger - Delink Whenever I have time I usually just join the gameranger dedicated server and just sit and wait for people to join.

Just a heads up to everybody... I've been trying to get a dedicated server up with no mods and finally have one. Its not guaranteed 24/7 due to occasional crashes but it is up currently and called =AOG= UK Anyone wanting to play should feel free to join and let's get some games goin!

There's 2 dedicated servers up all the time. =AOG= and CHI clan servers. I play in there regularly starting around 9pm EST and some nights there are up to 20 players in there. I also browse gameranger for the random pickup game once in a while... The 2 dedi's have mods on them but they're fairly easy to find and install once you see what they are. I haven't played BF4 in quite some time. It's plenty fun but after a while I really get the itch for a much more realistic, tactical shooter.

Welcome back. I too am an old GR fan that has recently reinstalled the game and began playing again. I play in a couple dedicated servers about 5-6 hours a week... granted, that's nowhere near the 20+ hours I used to put in back when I was in high school... but considering I have a $3000 machine with BF4 and I'm playing a game released in 2001... I think it's a crap ton. Love the game. Hope to see you in one of the servers.

I was never a MOD guy. Granted I have downloaded many of them now just so I am able to join modded servers... but I feel the mods have made it nearly impossible for new players to get into any kind of multiplayer action, because they have to have mods in order to join most servers. Campaign is/was fun but I played this game for years competitively and it was always Last Man Standing. I don't mind the mods and some of the maps are cool... but I still prefer the game how it was out of the box. Again even before the last official patch. I'll tell you the mod I dislike is DA49. I don't mind the mods that simply add maps/weapons/gametypes... but modifying the accuracy / reticule of the weapons is lame. I don't play COD for a reason.. I love this game for its realism and that mod made you capable of spraying people across the map while running full speed... Don't mind all the other mods. Some of the gametypes are kinda cool and modified spawn points... but if I had to choose I'd say no mods whatsoever... I still would love to see a dedicated server up 24/7 with no mods.

None. Prefer the game how it was out of the box. Even before the 1.4 patch that changed the distance of hand grenades and modified the rpg reticules.

I often host a room on gameranger with just the IP of the =AOG= server as the title for people to see. When I host on gameranger myself nobody can seem to connect to my server... plus I find myself waiting for an hour before a single person joins. I mostly made this post in hopes that the random old GR player from years ago would google "ghost recon clan ladder" the same way I did just trying to find old friends they used to play with, and potentially wipe the dust off their old discs and reinstall the game. I see that and it's appreciated... but I'm not a member of either of those clans I was just making people aware that there are 2 active dedicated servers still up and running for this game. O'well I'm still getting about as much response as I expected. Thanks!

Well I wasn't trying to find a PC clan to join or a ladder to play in... Not sure exactly why this was moved to an area of the forums where it's even less likely to be seen. but w/e.

Trying to see if I can round up any additional competition in the 2 dedicated servers still up and running on a nightly basis....? =AOG= and *CHI* clan servers are still running and can get up to 20 people at once every night between 9 pm and 12 am EST... They run a few mods but they're all easy to find, download, and install. I played this game from 2001 to 2004... then played it on consoles... played on a number of ladders as well. ggs!

We're all still waiting for a true sequel for the original ghost recon released in 2001. Every single game since then IMO has been awful. All of them. Everything is too "arcade" style and easy for any joe shmoe to pick up and play nowadays. Original GR took time, skill, and patience to be good at. Especially when playing competitively.

I'm not interested in resurrecting the game as much as just trying to find some of the same group of guys I used to play this amazing game with. Participated in Clan Ladder (Clan World Network) and a few other ladders back in the day. I've been playing COD GHOSTS and BF4 lately and don't know ANYBODY anymore. Seems like everybody is on consoles now... which I do as well.
